What is RPEQ certification?
RPEQ stands for Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland. Under the Professional Engineers Act 2002 (Qld), professional engineering services in Queensland must be carried out, or directly supervised, by an RPEQ. Certification is the registered engineer putting their name and registration number to a document to confirm the work meets the relevant standards.
Who can sign a Form 15 or Form 16 in Queensland?
A Form 15 (design compliance) and a Form 16 (inspection/aspect certificate) are completed by a competent person for the relevant aspect under the Building Act 1975 (Qld). For engineering aspects, that competent person is an RPEQ. Anthony Earl prepares, signs and issues both where the engineering scope sits within his registration.
How long does drawing certification take?
You get a fixed fee and a turnaround commitment within one business day of sending the drawings. Most straightforward reviews are returned within a few business days; larger or multi-discipline packages are scoped individually. Deadlines you're working to are factored into the quote.
What do you need to send?
- Drawings in PDF or DWG
- Supporting calculations, where they exist
- The site address
- The authority the documents are going to, and any deadline
What does it cost?
Certification and peer review are quoted as a fixed fee, not open-ended hourly rates, so you know the cost before you commit. The fee reflects the size and complexity of the package. Send the drawings and you'll have a price within one business day.
